Internal Health Specialist # 2

March 11, 2012
8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Location:

Instructor:  Howard F. Loomis, Jr., DC, FIACA
The Internal Health Specialist Certification Course has become one of the most popular certification courses in all of chiropractic, and it’s only available here on the campus of Logan College of Chiropractic. There are a number of reasons for this immense popularity: the emphasis on structure and function, the stress point examination, the amazing information on digestion and enzyme therapy, the incomparable instructor, and most importantly the life changing impact this knowledge will have on your patients. In this session Dr. Loomis presents Diet, Digestion, and Bowel Elimination. He begins with a review of Session # 1 and then discusses the effect of protein in the diet. He explains protein deficiency and the stress point evaluation. He discusses the effect of carbohydrate deficiency and the stress point examination, and lipid deficiency and the stress point examination. As the program continues he discusses normal digestion and explains how to recognize specific digestive problems and stress point evaluation. He points out the consequences of inadequate digestion and discusses inflammation and stress point evaluation. Dr. Loomis then presents specific protocols related to inadequate diet, faulty digestion, and poor bowel elimination. As always in the IHS programs hands-on instruction and practice are key elements of the class. Dr. Howard F. Loomis is a 1967 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic. Early in his career Dr. Loomis was concerned that nutritional supplementation was being practiced much like pharmaceutical drugs, as magic bullets to remedy or cover up perceived problems. In stark contrast Dr. Loomis believes in the use of a scientifically sound system that will objectively measure each patient’s biochemical imbalances and correlate them to the nutritional enzyme support needed. Dr. Loomis’ system of evaluation is recognized as a legitimate and proven method of determining a patient’s nutritional stresses. He is the author of the book titled Enzymes: The Key to Health and he is the President of the Loomis Institute of Enzyme Nutrition.

Why Attend? We all became chiropractors to recognize and remove mechanical and/or visceral dysfunction so that we could restore and maintain the health of our patients. This class gives us more tools to help us do that more effectively. Attending Dr. Loomis’ class this weekend will help you get back the enthusiasm and purpose you had when you decided to become a chiropractor in the first place.
